His extensive areas of experience include corporate finance, real estate management, people management, and investment strategy. Erik completed his CA in public accounting at KPMG and has more recently held Senior Executive positions at top Real Estate developers before starting Kroman to leverage his experience and create long term partnerships and value with growing Real Estate firms.
Scott Cryer is a CPA, CA professional with 25 years of experience in the commercial and residential real estate industry. He has a depth of experience in the public company arena, capital fund raising, corporate M&A, property and asset management and executive leadership areas. A strategic thinker with deep technical understanding of finance, accounting, taxation, HR, business processes and IT systems. In his over 10 years tenure as CFO of Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (“CAPREIT”) he was instrumental in the growth of the Trust from a market capitalization of $1.5B to over $10B ($17B of AUM) and the inclusion into the TSX 60. Scott has also held CFO roles at Irish Residential Properties REIT PLC and European Residential Real Estate Investment Trust. Prior to his roles as CFO, Scott was responsible for many industry leading clients in Deloitte’s Real Estate Assurance and Advisory practice including prominent global asset managers, Canadian and US focused public companies, developers and pension backed entities. He served on the Board of Director of IRES Fund Management Limited and was an active member of The Real Property Association of Canada (REALPAC) and its various committees.
Brian is a CPA and corporate finance professional with proven leadership in treasury, capital markets, mortgage finance, securitization, balance sheet and investor management. Brian previously managed $25 billion of AUM at RFA Bank of Canada, consisting of residential, commercial, land, construction, and alternative lending. Brian’s network extends deep into the corporate and alternative investment space, and he has made a name for himself through complex transactions requiring flexibility, creativity, and intensive negotiations.
Ben is a Chartered Accountant with “Big 4” experience at both KPMG and Deloitte. Ben subsequently brought his advisory and finance expertise to Dream Unlimited managing 11 developments within multiple asset classes and later to Starlight Investments where he oversaw over 2.2MM square feet of commercial property with various institutional and private partnerships. Though firm and industry experience, Ben has increased his focus on strategic advisory and business process reviews to assist businesses in financial planning and analysis, risk management and process optimization.
Paul is a CPA with extensive experience in financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and analysis of complex accounting transactions. Paul previously worked at Deloitte and managed diverse audit engagements during his time in public accounting. Paul also has experience working through complex real estate transactions where he grew his accounting and finance experience in the real estate industry. Paul’s experience in financial accounting, planning, and reporting has been invaluable to Kroman clients and partners.
Hayden is a CFA Charterholder and a senior associate at Kroman where he provides analysis and support for a wide range of accounting and finance responsibilities. Prior to joining Kroman as an associate, Hayden worked as a summer analyst at Northland Wealth Management where he provided administrative support and financial modelling for investor accounts totaling over $100M. Through due diligence support, Hayden has experience across several industries including private debt, real-estate equity, public equity, and cryptocurrency.
Serina is a real estate and human resources professional with a commerce degree from the University of Guelph and real estate training from Humber College. Serina leads human resources, administration and transactional support at Kroman. Serina previously worked at a residential and commercial Remax Brokerage where she provided administrative duties, lead generation and real estate transaction support. Serina also has experience and knowledge in operations, finance, accounting and marketing.
Sarah is a customer service and administration professional with experience working in advanced healthcare settings after graduating with a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University. At Kroman, Sarah manages transactional and customer operations, capital and advisory group support and administration. Sarah is responsible for office affairs and administration.
David is an analyst at Kroman and a co-op undergraduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying Business Administration and Financial Mathematics. David provides support across all of Kroman’s internal functions including accounting, finance, and marketing. Before Kroman, David served at CNA Canada as an Underwriting Intern for their Management Liability & Financial Institutions Lines. David now looks to further develop his proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analytics while exploring his interests in investment management and real estate.
Gurjit is an analyst at Kroman and a co-op undergraduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying Business Administration with a specialization in Finance and a minor in Economics. At Kroman, he provides analysis and support for finance, accounting, and marketing. Prior to Kroman, Gurjit was an Analyst at Barrick Gold assisting the finance team in analyzing and preparing financial models. Gurjit was also a Financial Analyst at Bayer, where he prepared legal entity financial deliverables, reports and presentations to provide financial insights. Gurjit now aims to build his experience in private equity and use his analytical skills to contribute to Kroman’s vision.
Jacob is an analyst at Kroman and a co-op undergraduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, studying Business Administration. Jacob contributes to Kroman’s internal operations, including accounting, finance, and marketing. Prior to Kroman, Jacob gained valuable experience and expertise in the intricate Real Estate development process through his role as an Assistant Land Surveyor. Jacob looks to leverage and further develop his unique skill set to support Kroman’s strategic objectives and initiatives.
